Work is ongoing on several major projects.
The Packings Standard PD 002 to replace and update the obsolete British Standard BS4371 has been revised to Draft 4 to introduce a new coding system which allows for more flexibility in the product make-up whilst still attempting to control quality. The draft has been circulated for comment to the Technical Task Force and interested members of the FSA and it is intended to review feedback and progress this standard at a special Task Force meeting scheduled for the 12th March in Manchester UK.
All members are welcome to join either in person or by video conference, please contact the Technical Director David Edwin-Scott for details and a copy of the draft.
Work continues on the development of the Training Package with two of the four sections completed, although they may require some improvement to the voice-over quality. The aim is to complete the content of all four sections in time for the AGM in Mira.
The Division’s web-page has been updated to reflect the latest status of projects. It is hoped to add at least one of the Packing Animation videos to the site as soon as the method of ‘looping’ the video from YouTube can be added.
