The first meeting of this new group was held at the ESA AGM meeting, Barcelona on 16thMay 2017, and was followed by a telephone conference call on 6th July.
The reason for this group is to try to bring more resources to bear on the key legislation and standards issues faced by the ESA. We have been extremely fortunate to enlist the support of the Smiths Group, and have appointed Liene Lamina, their Brussels office executive, as chairman of this committee.
There was a meeting in Brussels on 4th October where meetings with FEICA; Europump; Orgalime, and DG Environment were arranged.
These meetings proved very positive with good advice received from all the meetings as the best way forward for ESA and how best to bring quality information to the important people and which issues would be best to focus on.
The common message is that ESA should present themselves as experts in fugitive emission reduction, and be able to provide real documented examples of fugitive emissions reductions from processes and industrial plants worldwide.
