The 2018 ESA Annual General Meeting took place from the 15th to the 17th May 2018 in the spectacular venue of the Hotel Villa Franceschi in Mira, Italy. Over 40 ESA member companies and just over 110 different people attended over the course of the three days.
A special thank you must go to Francesco Apuzzo from ESA member Carrara for being the guest speaker on the subject of LDAR technology, current standards and future trends.
A special award was given to Andrew Douglas (James Walker) for his participation and contribution in 2017, together with presentations to Jan Kasprzyk, Dick Pronk, Sandy Van Den Broeck, Stefan Schulz and Oliver Zack for producing papers which were accepted and published by trade journals.
Peter Bowden was formally recognised as the new Technical Director for the Mechanical Seals Division. He will replace Wolfgang Schoepplein who is retiring from ESA activities after many years working with us. Wolfgang was presented with a Life Time Achievement award for all of his hard work and involvement which started in the very beginning – when the ESA was founded in 1992.
Represented by Phil Mahoney and Henri Azibert, the Fluid Sealing Association presented their activities and there was general recognition that the partnership between the two associations works extremely well.
David Mitchell presented an update on Standards and Legislation issues including the current Trade War difficulties which affect both the ESA and FSA.
For the members of the ESA the minutes of all the meetings will be in the Members area and sent separately via e mail to all participants.
One other prominent date for your diary is the 2018 Autumn Meeting which will take place on the 26th September at the premises of Carrara in Italy.
