Elastomeric and Polymeric Seals Division news

The E&P Division met on 7th October at the Radisson Blu, Manchester airport. Several people were also able to join via video conference. A number of subjects were discussed and the minutes can be found in the Members Area. If you don’t have the password, email markneal@europeansealing.com (members only).

Summary of the key activities

Low Temperature Test work

The new test equipment is now in place with a number of members and results are being obtained on a routine basis. Greene Tweed have kindly agreed to supply samples. The research work being conducted is being widely accepted as a paper. Matt Mitchell of PPE and Ozan Devlen of  Kastas presented the paper at two separate international conferences in October. Artis, a new ESA Member in 2016 is also to begin carrying out some testing work and is in the process of commissioning the necessary equipment.

The Arrhenius project continues and the group now hopes to carry out more test work with the aim of providing a more realistic guide to life capability. PPE, James Walker, Artis, Eriks and Cetim will be looking to support the project with the help of some of their research facilities.
