ESA Executive Committee Changes

As always, on a rolling basis some positions within the Executive Committee change every two years and other people retire due to other commitments.

This year we saw Alberto Rocca step down as Chairman and John Morton take over. Both have been active members of the ESA for many years and Alberto will continue to be an active member of the Executive Committee.

Darren Turner from Beldam Crossley had to resign from his post on the Executive Committee because of work commitments and David Mitchell has now retired from Flexitallic . We would like to thank them for their time throughout and welcome their replacements, Mark Horton from Flexitallic UK and Ozan Devlen from Kastas in Turkey.

ESA Chairman, John Morton

I work for John Crane, where I have been for the last 30+ years, formerly an engineer I now have commercial responsibility for pump and agitator seals and packings. I'm the Chairman of the ESA, and have been involved with the ESA for about 10 years. I like sports, actively run and cycle and ski badly. I'm a very keen diver and have been in the past involved in diver training for PADI. I have a passion for cars, especially classics (but can’t afford any good ones!)

New Executive Team Member Mark Horton, Flexitallic UK
Having graduated from Sheffield University with a degree in Materials Science I moved into the Steel Industry. From here I moved through a number of positions within Operational and General Management within steel fabrication, machining and mechanical assembly functions. Largely very hands on type work I then spent some time running a Copper wire business in South Africa, moving onto setting up an electronic component manufacturing business in China and then more recently joining Flexitallic, largely based in the UK. I am married to Gulderen with two boys and a girl who occupy a large proportion of my time and energy. As they are all teenagers it tends to keep me on my feet! Aside of work I like to spend time sailing, skiing or windsurfing with my family and friends or relaxing in Cyprus where we have a villa.

New Executive Team Member, Ozan Devlen, Kastas, Turkey

I am working for Kastas Sealing Technologies since 2009 as R&D Manager, Kastas is a part of ESA since 2013 and involved in Elastomeric & Polymeric Sealing Division activities from the beginning of the membership. I am a Mechanical Engineer B.Sc. and Automotive Engineer M.Eng, a keen, high achiever, aiming to be at the forefront of Engineering. I like travelling, watching and playing football, computer technology & gadgets and movies. I spend my time with my wife and 2 year old son in beautiful seaside city of Izmir with mild climate in Turkey.
