Mechanical Seals News

The mechanical seal division have defined and created a position statement regarding EC1935:2004 and published it on the website. The statement provides guidance for mechanical seal manufacturers and users working within the Food industry helping avoid unnecessary and sometimes costly testing of material not identified within the standard. Staying with the Food Industry, 3 ESA representatives are now involved with in the EHEDG working group to provide input for the first draft of the new document in 2017.

Work is beginning on a selection tool that will better aid the mechanical seal users in assessing the risk of the process media they are sealing. The outcome will be a ‘normalized’ index defining the preferred sealing solution including environmental control and supply system where required that is endorsed by ESA members.

A career development group is being established to encourage school leavers and graduates to join our industry.
