Packings Division News

The Technical taskforce of the Packing Division met on April 11th to discuss current subjects. CETIM joined the meeting and presented the progress on the valve packing characterization project and the pump friction study. Good progress has been made on both of these projects and CETIM will be present at the AGM in Essen.

The packing division is working on a basic packing training course for end users. All the sections have been reviewed and they are now at a stage where they can be brought together for final formatting. We are working with an external company to produce professional animations for creating additional clarity to in dedicated sections.

Another subject that was discussed was the Industrial Emissions Directive and the lack of reference to valve emissions standards such as ISO 15848-1, TA-Luft or API. This subject will be on the agenda of the general meeting at the AGM as well the packing divisions meeting.

The Packing Division meeting will be on May 19th at 09:00h and all the members are asked to join the meeting since many important and interesting subjects are on the agenda that shouldn’t be missed.
