Flange Gasket Divisional Meeting

The Flange gasket division met over two days at the W.L. Gore and Associates offices in Putzbrunn, Germany on the 28th/29th September. Stephan Piringer from Klinger chaired the general Flange Gasket meeting and the new Technical Director, Derek Davidson and the Standardisation Task Force Chairman, Rainer Zeuss were also present along with other member companies as well as Frank Herket from Amtec. The following day Rainer chaired the Standardisation Task Force meeting, which focuses on indepth technical issues only.

The Elastomeric & Polymeric Seals Division is the newest of the ESA Divisions, but it has already produced some ground breaking material which has added to understanding of how elastomeric seals function and how best to use them. The group is fairly small but growing with two new members joining within the last year, bringing additional expertise in polymeric sealing into the team.
