The Risk Assessment (RAC) and Socio-Economic Analysis (SEAC) committees have their first meetings related to the UPFAS restriction process in 2025 during March.

- Opinion development on UPFAS substances restriction state of play and next steps.
- General approach in the evaluation of the restriction proposal
- Evaluation of the following sectors:
- Applications of fluorinated gases
- Transport
- Energy
After March, the next sectors for discussion are:
- Lubricants
- Medical devices
- Electronics and semiconductors
The RAC and SEAC will further work on the opinion development progress in 2025, followed by further consultations on socio-economic aspects.The European Commission will ultimately decide on the restriction in consultation with EU member states.
