The different ESA Divisions continue working on specific projects.
The Packings Division is updating the Packings Standard to Draft 7. Here, specific values for packing yarns are added, such as: tensile strength, break elongation, shrinkage and creep, as well as the description of test methods to establish these values. Work on the packing training is continuing with addition of chapter 6 packing failures and further work on voice over for the other remaining chapters.

The Flange Gaskets Division has finalized the specification for the ESA database for gasket parameters according to EN 13555. In cooperation with Co. Amtec, the publishing of the data and test results will start soon. In addition, work on a gasket installation video is nearly finished, and voice over is to be added.

The Mechanical Seals Division made progress on a project for food migration testing of carbon face materials. 4 material suppliers have committed samples and food testing institutes have made offers for testing. The next step is to select an institute and start the migration testing.

The Elastomeric and Polymeric Seals Division has started a new round robin test for the prediction of seal life. FKM samples have been distributed to 5 companies who will perform tests to establish compression set and stress relaxation.
