The Valve World Conference and Exhibition held in the first week of December proved to be a resounding success. A total of 565 exhibitors from 36 countries showcased their innovations across more than 15,500 square meters of exhibition space, with ESA members actively participating. Notable exhibitors included Amtec, Clifford Springs, Cross Manufacturing, Densiq, IDT, James Walker, Latty, and Spetech. Additionally, other ESA members attended the exhibition over the three-day event.
ESA and its members also played a significant role in the conference. During a workshop dedicated to hydrogen, ESA Technical Director Ralf Vogel presented on “Fugitive Emission Sealing of Hydrogen for Flanges and Valve Stems.” Furthermore, ESA member Emmanuel Sauger provided valuable insights on “Fugitive Emissions of a Valve with Gaseous Hydrogen: tests on seals and tests on valve,” based on research conducted at CETIM in France. Both presentations received positive feedback, and the engaging discussions that followed highlighted the increasing interest in hydrogen as a key component of future energy initiatives.
In a session focused on fugitive emissions, Simon Weiler from Amtec delivered a presentation titled “2024 Updates for all API Fugitive Emission Test Standards.” Hans Dekker from Chesterton also contributed with a presentation on “The Importance of Packing Installation in Maintaining Valve Reliability.” All presentations will soon be accessible for download from the ESA Knowledgebase.
